xkoto Announces DS2 Benchmark Results
Virtualization for DB2 Provides More than Eighty Percent Increase - without sacrificing availability or simplicity
TORONTO, Canada - October 16, 2006 - xkoto Inc. has completed a DS2 benchmark1 that achieved an impressive 80 percent increase in scalability over the next best result by running DB2 9 and xkoto's GRIDSCALE Database Load Balancer.
"The unmatched high availability and disaster recovery capabilities of DB2 9 combine with GRIDSCALE's continuous availability and scalable performance to give our clients a platform that other vendors can't match," said Arvind Krishna, Vice President IBM Data Servers. "DB2 customers running in query-intensive environments are seeing a significant performance boost by using GRIDSCALE."
Unlike other vendor offerings, customers gain this benefit without sacrificing availability, rapid disaster recovery or simplicity. Additionally, cost saving innovations like DB2 9 pureXML™ and deep compression features are unique to IBM DB2 9.
"The demand for usable data virtualization solutions is real", added Albert Lee, xkoto's CEO. "What's got CFOs and CIOs excited is that they get additional value out of their existing high availability systems through GRIDSCALE's active/active clustering technology. Our customers are gaining competitive advantage by building out scalable data fabrics to support their on demand businesses - without sacrificing reliability or simplicity".
